This is an excellent book for the first time learning about coding and being a second edition it's more up-to-date and carries a few more additional features that the first one hasn't included。 Possibly some new projects? No matter, this book is excellent for young beginners of all ages, even adults。 Allowing them to get a better idea of how codes work and make things run when applied in the order on the screen。 The book Getting Started with Coding 2nd Edition is based on using Scratch, a perfect child's program that can aid in code learning while having fun。 It's not always considered for adults to have fun with, but it can be! The entire experience with this book is to make games and even sharing them with others to enjoy and try to play。 That is what's cool with Scratch, but what you need to learn to use it is this awesome guide。 It's tiny and not super huge。 The color and illustrated images and information are very helpful and not frustrating。 Anyone following along can really understand how to use Scratch。 Learning the quick features on the site, while getting right into creating a game for fun。 I really have no objection to learning right away and quickly。 It's just super fun and quite perfect for even practice if you know how to use scratch。 I honestly love this book and found it a perfect guide and fun-filled with projects to create and play。"I have been given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion" 。。。more

This book is easy to understand, and it does talk about coding。 My problem with it is that it is a book to support the computer program: Microworlds Ex。 It is more of a how-to manual for the software than a book about coding in general。 You have to read the back of the book to find this out。 It should be on the front as well。 Purchasing the book allows you a short trial period of the program for free or a discounted purchase price of Microworlds EX。 The program gets good reviews and it might be This book is easy to understand, and it does talk about coding。 My problem with it is that it is a book to support the computer program: Microworlds Ex。 It is more of a how-to manual for the software than a book about coding in general。 You have to read the back of the book to find this out。 It should be on the front as well。 Purchasing the book allows you a short trial period of the program for free or a discounted purchase price of Microworlds EX。 The program gets good reviews and it might be worth checking out, but as far as a book about coding, go for another book。 。。。more

I borrowed this book from my eBook library to have a quick glance through to see if it would be appropriate for my son who is keen on computers。 I've looked through the book on my eReader and was so impressed that I've ordered him a hardcopy of it so he can give it a try。 The book comes with a code to download a program to teach them to code。 Will update further when I receive the book and he's had a chance to follow the steps but so far I'm impressed with what I've read。Update 10 October 2016: I borrowed this book from my eBook library to have a quick glance through to see if it would be appropriate for my son who is keen on computers。 I've looked through the book on my eReader and was so impressed that I've ordered him a hardcopy of it so he can give it a try。 The book comes with a code to download a program to teach them to code。 Will update further when I receive the book and he's had a chance to follow the steps but so far I'm impressed with what I've read。Update 10 October 2016: well my 12 year old son with a learning disorder used this book over the school holidays and had a blast。 Constant comments like "this is sick" when he got the projects to work。 Easy for him to understand whilst learning something functional。 。。。more
